Haystack is a powerful tool designed to enable each and every individual manage all of her information in the way that makes the most sense. By removing the arbitrary barriers created by applications that only handle certain information "types", and recording only a fixed set of relationships defined by the developer, users can define whichever arrangements of, connections between, and views of information they find most effective. Such personalization of information management will dramatically improve your ability to find what you need when you need it.

Doodle is a desktop search engine for Linux. It searches your hard drive for files using pattern matching on meta-data. It extracts file-format specific meta-data using libextractor and builds a suffix tree to index the files. The index can then be searched rapidly. It is similar to locate, but can take advantage of information such as ID3
tags. It is possible to do full-text indexing using the appropriate libextractor plugins. It also supports using FAM to keep the database up-to-date.

The Bubbling Load Monitor (or "Bubblemon" for
short) is a system load monitor for the GNOME
panel. It looks like a vial containing water. The
water level indicates how much (electronic) memory
is in use. The color of the liquid indicates how
much swap space is used. The amount of bubbles
reflects the system CPU load. A message in a
bottle indicates there is unread mail. A reed-like
graph shows I/O load. On multi-core systems
the CPU with the highest load will bubble in the
middle, and the others on the sides, so it's
possible to see how well load gets distributed
between CPUs.

PyGTK is a set of Python bindings for the GTK widget set. It provides an object oriented interface that is slightly higher level than the C one. It automatically does all the type casting and reference counting that you normally would have to do with the C API.

DiffImg is a simple image comparison tool which takes two RGB images with the same size as input. Some statitics are computed, and the positions at which pixels differ are displayed as a color mask.

Rodent applications (previously Xffm Code Set) is a set of GTK2/GTK3 applications which use librfm and which avoid reinventing the wheel by using interprocess communication with command line applications. Current applications are: Rodent Filemanager (rodent-fm); Rodent Differences (rodent-diff); Rodent Search Tool (rodent-fgr); a command line search tool (fgr); and an icon theme manager (rodent-iconmgr).

Wnotes are small, self-contained text notes for X Window System desktops. You can create, type, cut-and-paste, and save notes in any combination you like. Wnotes let you store notes and their window configurations using any database which accepts input from the Unix shell. It is compatible with most Linux and Unix desktops. The source code package includes sdb, a simple note database written as a bash script, and other examples of how to use Wnotes.
