LZF provides LZF compression/decompression for JavaScript. It is compatible with the lzf_compress and lzf_decompress PHP functions (see LZF in PECL). It is based on the C source of LZF functions by Marc Alexander Lehmann and on the C source of the LZF PHP extension by Marcin Gibula.

File Selection Language is a descriptive language
for file selection. It is used to selectively pick
files from a directory structure. FSL uses glob
patterns as the basic building block. For
fine-tuning the selection, inclusion and exclusion
rule combinations and conditional expressions are
available. File size and modification date can be
used in expressions.

excat is a simple tool that auto-detectd (potentially nested) compressed file formats and decompresses any combination of them using libarchive, thus unifying zcat, bzcat, lzcat, xzcat, etc. in a single (static, if you need it) binary. It may act as a drop-in replacement for any *cat.

The Heirloom Packaging Tools are Linux ports of
the SVR4 application packaging tools, as released
by Sun as part of OpenSolaris. Currently, there
exists no Linux distribution which bases its
package management on these tools. Nevertheless,
they are useful for evaluation purposes.

PAR is a cross-platform packaging and deployment
tool for Perl programs, dubbed as a cross
between Java's JAR and Perl2EXE/PerlApp.

RPMbuilder is a program to help users create RPMs from a source .tar.gz package. It helps build a generic RPM spec file. Although this program will bail out on nonstandard build methods, it should be good enough for most apps.

fs2svn takes a sequence of archive folders
(snapshots or historical backups of a project) and
makes a new Subversion repository, preserving
their revision history. Each top-level folder
creates one revision, which is backdated to its
most recent file's modification date. Additions,
changes, and deletions between one folder and the
next are all recorded in the repository, and the
efficient diff-based storage saves disk space over
the original full or incremental backups.
