Frameworks is a stop-motion animation frame
capture software application for Linux. Frameworks
captures images from a camera and strings them
together into an animation. These still PNG images
may then be combined into a single video file
using other software. Only video4linux webcams are
currently supported. Frameworks is designed to be
easily used alongside the GIMP Animation Package
(GAP). It supports frame averaging, onion
skinning, and continuous preview.

Freecine is a do-it-yourself telecine system for
digitizing Super8 films using a flatbed scanner
and some additional equipment, including a Lego
NXT robotics building kit.

PfControl is a command line application for
controlling the "pixelfly" and "pixelfly qe"
scientific cameras manufactured by PCO. It
supports the setting of all parameters and the
capture of images. A video mode intended for
adjusting the objective is also provided.

Slurchin is a Web interface to a Quickcam for
Notebooks Deluxe connected to a NSLU2 running
Linux. (It might work for other webcams, hardware,
and OSes, but it hasn't been tested.) The
application allows the user to take pictures and
see them through the Web. It also allows the user
to check if the necessary drivers to make the
camera work are installed and loaded. It requires
w3camd to be installed in the device.

laserTraq makes it possible to use one or more
laser pointers as input devices. Using a camera
or other video capture device and gStreamer, you
film your surface and define your play field.
laserTraq calculates the coordinates and outputs them.

Mach64 video4linux2 is a video4linux device driver
for older Mach64 TV tuner cards. It is very alpha,
and has only been tested with a few cards: a 4 MB
All-in-wonder capture card, a 2 MB ATI Rage II+
with an ISA add-on TV card, and an ATI Rage Pro
video card with an ISA add-on TV card. There are
versions for 2.6.* and 2.4.* kernels.

Capture uses an IEEE 1394-compliant video camera recorder to make and play movies on your computer screen.

CSMonkey TV Remote is a desktop control for TV
cards. It's simple, easy to use, and customizable.
You can start your TV and change the channels.

xscript interprets a script file to automate the
capture of an X11 window. The output may be used
to create animated GIFs. This tool is based on
XVidCap by rasca. It has been made to produce
animations showing how to use shell utilities.

pHoToMoLo is a toolset for managing JPEG images in JFIF or Exif
format. Photomolo generates a static HTML 4.01- and CSS 1-based
multi-resolution image gallery for a directory tree containing images.
Exifiron losslessly compresses and corrects the orientation of Exif
JPEG images. Jpegnail removes or embeds thumbnails. Jpegcom lets you
edit embedded image comments using any text editor and image viewer. A
shell script frontend for Exifiron is included for copying images from
removable storage, such as USB or Compact Flash.

PhotoDirectory is a cross-platform application to
organize digital photos. Great effort has been
given to keeping these pictures in an order
accessible without the need for any organization
software; no databases are required.

PyGalleryCrawler is a Web crawler for online image
galleries.

webcam snaps is a Webcam utility for taking
snapshots.

gtkShots is a GUI tool to automatically save
screenshots at regular or scheduled points in
time. with the Options may be chosen for each
screenshot to be saved, such as the size, the
parent folder, and the time interval between them.
Some possible applications include the creation of
presentations or monitoring desktop activity.
gtkShots includes pyshots, the command-line
program that actually implements its
functionality.

CamRPC is a simple client/server solution to
update/manage several webcams using a PHP enabled
Web server and any client with XML-RPC
capabilities.
