wp is a Perl whois tool for looking up the owners,
technical contacts, abuse desk, IP address, NIC
handle, or ASN of any domain on the internet. A
complete rewrite of the GeekTools whois proxy, it
also runs either as a Web application or on the
command line but has a few more features. The Web
interface is validated strict XHTML and CSS2.

WP Whois Proxy ist jetzt i18n-kompatibel. Übersetzungen sind Französisch, Deutsch, Vietnamesisch enthalten, und Englisch. Mehr UTF-8-codierten Sprachen hinzugefügt werden können. is smarter at finding referral servers and the

Seit dem letzten Freshmeat Ankündigung (v1.1.4.4) die meisten Funktionen wurden neu geschrieben, so dass WP schneller, effizienter und sicherer zu machen. Ausgestattet mit einem neuartigen Null-Wartungs-Access-Control, dass die Drosseln badbots, XSS-Angriffen, bessere Erhaltung der Formatierung Server ', verbesserte whoislist und ZapTrash eine erweiterte Liste (70 + verbose Server bekannt). Since the last Freshmeat announcement (v1.1.4.4) most functions have been rewritten, making WP faster, more efficient, and more secure. Features include a new zero-maintenance access-control that throttles badbots, XSS attack prevention, better preservation of servers' formatting, enhanced whoislist, and an expanded ZapTrash list (70+ verbose servers known). The latest tweaks always available in CVS. WP is now known to work out of the box on Windows with Apache and ActiveState Perl.

A Whois Server for .ORG is now obtained from whois.pir.org. New whoislist information was incorporated, borrowed from Marco d'Itri's whois. URLs and comments are now displayed for TLDs that do not provide a whois service, but that are responsible for the TLD. wp-install-doc.html was added. acladmin.cgi now supports ranges of IP addresses. An option to specify your stylesheet was also added.
