KFontinst is a KDE-based TrueType and Type1 font installer. Its features include: the abilty to preview fonts before installing, generation of a Ghostscript Fontmap file (including aliases for Qt-generated Postscript), StarOffice configuration, and generation of AFM files for use with StarOffice & AbiWord.

Diese Pressemitteilung wurde ein Kontrollzentrum-Modul konvertiert, hat Unterstützung für Tacho-und Bitmap-Schriften, verwaltet heute ein komplettes X11 Fonts-Ordner, und ist fast komplett neu geschrieben.

Eine Korrektur für einen Fehler, wenn die "System konfigurieren" Menü Eintrag wurde immer deaktiviert, zusätzliche Unterstützung für Type1-Fonts, bei denen t1lib hat Probleme (wie die mit Acrobat Adaobe im Lieferumfang enthalten), wurde für mehrere der Installation von Programmen in den anderen /-Verzeichnis und einen Fehler bei dem der Nutzer durfte wählen Sie (und später zu installieren) Schriften, die nicht korrekt geladen werden konnte, eine neue Möglichkeit, ein benutzerdefiniertes Vorschau Zeichenfolge eingeben, und neue Mandrake (i586 und i686) RPMs.
A fix for a bug where the "Configure System" menu entry was always disabled, extra support for Type1 fonts where t1lib has problems (such as those supplied with Adaobe acrobat), fixes for multiple installing of programs in the other/ directory and a bug where the user was allowed to select (and subsequently install) fonts which could not be loaded correctly, a new ability to enter a custom preview string, and new Mandrake (i586 & i686) RPMs.
