Der Kernel wurde auf 2.6.27.25 Long Term Support aktualisiert. mISDN2 mit LCR-Unterstützung, USB-und Flash-Installations-Images, VDSL-Unterstützung, PPTP-Unterstützung, NL80211 WLAN-Stack, compat-Wireless-und iw und Xen Paravirt Guest Support für IPFire wurden hinzugefügt. Viele weitere Pakete aktualisiert wurden, wie zB OpenSSL, OpenSSH, Apache, Squid, Snort, collectd, ntfs-3g, Openswan, Updatexlrator, iptables, und l7protocols. Mit mehreren Atheros-Chips, ist IPFire der Lage, als Wireless Access Point zu arbeiten. Unterstützung für UMTS-3G-Modems wurde verbessert. tmpfs wird auf die Festplatte zu verringern liest und schreibt. Hardware-Überwachung wurde durch die Verwendung von lmsensors verbessert. Vnstat Verkehrs-Buchführung ersetzt ipac-ng.

With several Atheros Chips, IPFire is able to work as a wireless access point. Support for UMTS-3G-Modems was improved. tmpfs is used to reduce disk reads and writes. Hardware monitoring was improved by the use of lmsensors. Vnstat traffic-accounting replaces ipac-ng.
