freshmeat Project Query Class queries freshmeat.net and retrieves
information on projects with records there. It features retrieval of
project information from records provided by freshmeat in XML, parsing
of project XML records to extract all the relevant data, and caching
of retrieved project information in disk files for at least the next
day to avoid retrieving the same data again before it could have been
updated.
