When using Tera Term terminal emulator and macro with Cisco device with USB mini console, a blue screen occurred while sending/quarrying Cisco CLI commands. The blue screen can be reproduced when the Tera Term window is closed while receiving Cisco CLI command output.
For example:
Switch# term length 0
Switch# show run
And close the Tera Term window while receiving the output.
The blue screen can also occurred at random, while connected to Cisco device USB mini console, even when not receiving Cisco CLI command output. The blue screen message points to Cisco USB Console Driver, however using Putty does not exhibit this symptom. The blue screen is seen on Windows XP (32-bit) and Windows 7 Pro (32/64 bit).
