<STATUS> stat: DP ppkg: kmod (version 29) page: depmod.d.5 date: 2022/09/25 mail: cyoic****@maple***** name: Chonan Yoichi </STATUS> このマニュアルについて確認しておきたいことは、二つしかありません。 両方とも、[JM:03869] にも書いたことです。 ○ built-in の訳 'built-in' という言葉は、4 回出てきます。以下、シングルクォートで 強調しておきます。 1 回目: DESCRIPTION 中: ... 'built-in' kernel modules are complemented by custom built versions of the same ... 2 回目: search コマンドの説明の最初のパラグラフ: The special keyword 'built-in' refers to the standard module directories installed by the kernel. 3 回目と 4 回目: search コマンドの説明の 2 番目のパラグラフ: By default, depmod will give a higher priority to a directory with the name updates using this 'built-in' search string: "updates 'built-in'" ... 3 回目の "this 'built-in' search string" を除いて、他の三ヶ所は、 「カーネルに付属する、カーネル同梱の」という意味だと思います (2 回目と 4 回目は、カーネル付属のモジュールが入っているディレクトリを指すキーワード ですが)。そして、3 回目だけは、「(プログラムに) 埋め込まれた」という意味。 つまり、3 回目と 4 回目の出てくるこの部分の訳は次のようになります。 デフォルトでは、depmod は、プログラムに埋め込まれた "updates built-in" という検索文字列を使って、updates という名前のディレクト リに、built-in よりも高い優先度を与えています。 証拠になりそうな kmod-29/tools/depmod.c 中の記述については、[JM:03869] に書いておきました。 ○ external コマンドの 2 番目のパラグラフ The kernelversion is a POSIX regular expression or * wildcard, like in the override. "like in the override" は、前にコンマがあるので、全体に掛かるように 思えます。つまり、「kernelversion は、override におけると同様、 POSIX の正規表現か、ワイルドカードの * です」と。 しかし、override コマンドの説明には、"It is possible to specify one kernel or all kernels using the * wildcard. " とあるだけで、 正規表現のことなど書いてないのです。コンマの存在をあえて無視して、 「kernekversion は POSIX の正規表現か、あるいは override の場合と 同様にワイルドカードの * です」とした方がよいでしょうか。 ○ SYNOPSIS もう一つありました。[JM:03870] にも書いたのですが、セクション 5 の manpage の SYNOPSIS という見出しを「書式」と訳すのは、変ではないでしょうか。 kmod の場合は、セクション 5 の SYNOPSIS に書いてあるのは、みんなファイルの 名前なんですから。そこで、セクション名は「概要」にしておきました。これも要領を 得ないセクション名だと言われれば、そのとおりなので、もっとピッタリの案があったら、 承りたいと思っています。 添付ファイルの構成です。 $ tar tzf depmod.d.5.tar.gz kmod/ kmod/draft/ kmod/draft/man5/ kmod/draft/man5/depmod.d.5 kmod/po4a/ kmod/po4a/depmod.d.5.po kmod/po4a/add_ja/ kmod/po4a/add_ja/copyright/ kmod/po4a/add_ja/copyright/depmod.d.5.txt kmod/original/ kmod/original/man5/ kmod/original/man5/depmod.d.5 ちょっと面倒なことに気が付いてしまいました。kmod の前身である module-init-tools に倣って、kmod tools の manpage のヘッダに Copyright と翻訳履歴を追加していたのですが、module-init-tools の 翻訳 manpage のヘッダには、Copyright 表示はあっても、ライセンス表示は ないのですね。これでは、自由な配布や変更を認めていることになりませんから、 表示が不十分ではないかと思います (Copyright だけあるので、むしろ変更などを 禁じてしまっているのではないでしょうか)。man pages の原文には、どこにも ライセンス表示がないようですが、modprobe.c などのソースを見ると、 the GNU General Public License になっています。そこで、ソースの ヘッダにある以下の文を、ライセンスとして書いておこうかと思っています。 "This program is free software" なんて書いてあって、ちょっとズレて いますけれど、これで用が足りるのではないでしょうか。それとも、"This man page is a free document" などと、少し手を入れた方がよいのでしょうか。 つまり、こういう文言です。 This program is free software: you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by the Free Software Foundation, either version 2 of the License, or (at your option) any later version.
