Tcl provides a portable scripting environment for Unix, Windows, and Macintosh that supports string processing and pattern matching, native file system access, shell-like control over other programs, TCP/IP networking, timers, and event-driven I/O. Tcl has traditional programming constructs like variables, loops, procedures, namespaces, error handling, script packages, and dynamic loading of DLLs. Tk provides portable GUIs on UNIX, Windows, and Macintosh. A powerful widget set and the concise scripting interface to Tk make it a breeze to develop sophisticated user interfaces.

TTK Vista Theme-Unterstützung wurde hinzugefügt. [tk_chooseDirectory] hat eine neuere Windows-Stil auf. Tk 8.5.8 kann jetzt [Last] in eine Tcl 8.6 oder höher Dolmetscher. [wm iconphoto] nun auch auf nicht-32-Bit-Darstellungen und Big-Endian-Systemen. Nested-Ereignis-Schleife Probleme mit TkAqua Kakao und CoreFoundation wurden behoben. Ein Absturz, wenn [exec] leitet zu einer [chan erstellen] D-Kanal wurde behoben. Image Datenübertragung über [Auswahl get] aktiviert war. Viele segfaults und Panik aufgrund eines Überlaufs auf langen Integer-Werte wurden repariert. Es wurde Unterstützung für die Portabilität auf gcc 2.95 auf Haiku OS aufgenommen. Mehrere Tk Aussehen Korrekturen vorgenommen.

A crash when [exec] redirects to a [chan create]d channel was fixed. Image data transfer through [selection get] was enabled. Many segfaults and panics due to integer overflow on long values were repaired. Support was added for portability to gcc 2.95 on Haiku OS. Several Tk appearance corrections were made.
