Sound Mural is a picture-to-sound converter. A PBM/PGM/PPM file is read on stdin and a WAV file is written on stdout. The image is treated as a spectrogram. Examples can be seen and heard on the Sound Mural Web page.

Ein Compiler-Option wurde für die Verwendung eines linearen Frequenzgang logarithmische Skalierung statt Frequenzskalierung aufgenommen. Logarithmische Skalierung ist immer noch der Standard. Logarithmische Skalierung ist musikalisch. Lineare Skalierung ist es einfach zu tun, Bild-> Sound-> Bildkonvertierung, wie mit Lena auf der Sound Mural Web-Seite zu sehen.

A compile-time option was added for using a linear
frequency scaling instead of logarithmic frequency
scaling. Logarithmic scaling is still the default.
Logarithmic scaling is more musical. Linear
scaling makes it easy to do image->sound->image
conversion, as seen with Lena on the Sound Mural
Web page.
