Gabber is a Jabber client for GNOME. Jabber is a flexible distributed Open Source instant messaging system. It also happens to allow communication with other instant messaging systems, such as ICQ, AIM, Yahoo!, MSN, and even IRC. Gabber aims to implement quite a bit of Jabber's functionality while remaining easy to use.

In dieser Version wurde die Jabber Bibliothek Gabber verwendet, jabberoo, auf die neueste Version des Jabber-XML-Parsing-Bibliothek, libjudo aktualisiert. Dieser behebt viele Parsen von XML abstürzt, wie Benutzer jabber.com 's Jabber Directory-Benutzer und die Protokollierung in die und aus der Jabber wiederholt. Gabber unterstützt jetzt Unsichtbarkeit, ein neues Feature von Jabber, die derzeit nur auf jabberd 1.4.2 ist. Es ist jetzt auch für SOCKS 4 / 5 und drei Typen von HTTP-Proxy-Unterstützung. Einige andere Änderungen vorgenommen wurden.

In this version, the Jabber library Gabber uses, jabberoo, has been updated to the latest version of the Jabber XML parsing library, libjudo. This fixes many XML parsing crashes, such as searching jabber.com's Jabber Users Directory and logging in and out of Jabber repeatedly. Gabber now supports invisibility, a new feature in Jabber which is currently only available on jabberd 1.4.2. There is also now support for SOCKS 4/5 and three types of HTTP Proxy. Several other changes were made.
