abcde is a frontend to cdparanoia, wget, cd-discid, id3, and your favorite Ogg Vorbis (the default), MP3, FLAC, Ogg Speex, or MPP (Musepack) encoder. It grabs an entire CD and converts each track to the desired format, then comments or ID3-tags each file, all with one command. It supports multiple output in a single CD read, the creation of a single track from a CD, resume operation, CD concatenation, volume normalization, gapless encoding (with LAME), parallelization, SMP, proxies, customizable filename organization and munging, playlist generation, distributed encoding via distmp3, and more.

Viele Änderungen wurden vorgenommen, aber ein richtiger Test ist noch nicht durchgeführt worden sind. dagrab wird nun unterstützt, und lädt von POSIX-Kompatibilität Änderungen wurden vorgenommen, um die Übertragbarkeit zu verbessern. Die CDDB-Protokoll-Ebene wurde auf 5 gesetzt, so CDYEAR und CDGENRE kann jetzt für Tagging verwendet werden. Die Kommentar-Tag ist nun mit Inline-oggenc verwendet. and loads of POSIX compatibility changes were
made to improve portability. The CDDB protocol
level was set to 5, so CDYEAR and CDGENRE can
now be used for tagging. The COMMENT tag is
now used with inline oggenc. Other bugfixes were
also made.

Standard-Verhalten von VAOUTPUTFORMAT Ausgabe wurde geändert, um mehrere Verzeichnisse für eine gleiche Album zu vermeiden. Default behaviour of VAOUTPUTFORMAT output was changed to avoid multiple directories for a same album. Track wavs are padded with 0 so if you want to burn those wavs just cdrecord *.wav will do it. "KEEPWAVS" was added as a variable to keep those wavs. Documentation comments were added about OUTPUTTYPE, and abcde.conf was cleaned up.
