Not yet sure if #44486 is a hard dependency, or can fixing it be considered like an improvement after the initial implementation.

Oh, didn't occur for me to check for such a thing after I got the originalrequest to provide freeciv for flatpak. Have to check how to proceed with that. Thanks.
I've got further requests that we should release only when the flatpak packaging is stable/ready-ready. Assuming we go with that guidance, there will be no freeciv-3.0.2 flatpak release build. My goal for now is to start generating nightly flatpak builds for testing purposes.
We should look into providing flatpak packaging, or at least building up support for someone else to do it for us.
